The Lowell Memorial Auditorium is thrilled to present the inaugural Lowell Irish Festival, happening Saturday, September 21, 2019. The event will be located on the grounds of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium, the day-long Lowell Irish Festival will be open to families and groups of all ages, and will include:
• Food trucks • Craft stands • Live music • Irish heritage events • Irish step dancers • Craft Beer tents • Children’s activities and entertainment • And more!
We are hoping to establish the Lowell Irish Festival alongside Winterfest, The Lowell Folk Festival, and the Lowell Southeast Asian Water Festival as the Mill City’s next great cultural happening! We anticipate approximately a few thousand folks to enjoy the festivities. In addition to the traditional Irish Festivities, folks will be able to enjoy an exhibit in the Hall of Flags: WHEN THE IRISH SETTLED IN LOWELL: an exhibit of historic photos, artifacts, & documents recounting the early Irish community of our city. It’s the story of how the first immigrant group to Lowell, overcame poverty and adversity, but by the turn of the 20th century evolved into the city’s leading political, religious, and social force. From the arrival in 1822 of Lowell’s first Irish immigrant, Hugh Cummiskey, to today’s celebration of St. Patrick’s Day the Irish have maintained a cultural presence for almost 200 years. The exhibit carries on their story for others to share.
FEE $100 includes 8 ft table and two chairs
MUST have booth set up by noon and not tear down before 5PM. Please note you are welcome to stay until the event ends.
